Hot dogs…pure beef or blend? Rolls or New England style buns? Ketchup or not? Relish, chili, or both?
(Side note–one of the smartest marketing decisions of all time was to package hot dogs in packs of eight, and hot dog buns in packs of six. You need to buy four packs of buns and three packs of ‘dogs to have mathematical parity.)

Pure beef.
I’m not sure what a New England style bun is.. so.. just a standard hot dog roll.
Never Ketchup.. Never never never… only mustard.
Relish is ok, but not with chili.. the only thing that should go with chili is cheese.. Preferably shredded cheddar.
but never ever ketchup…

Always hated the New England style. Pure beef. Buns. Guilden’s Spicy Brown and Relish. Chili doesn’t count. That’s a meal with a hot dog under it, never a hot dog with chili on top of it. Plus chili only works if it’s completely coated in the marvelously magical golden hue of gloriously hot and shiny melted Cheez Whiz.

And I don’t remember the last time I saw buns packed anything other than eight to a package, bringing bun-dog parity.

Beef, bun, brown mustard, sauerkraut. I haven’t owned a bottle of ketchup in years, and have no plans to do so.

Vienna by choice (hard to find here) or Hebrew National as a close second. Both kosher all-beef. I’d rather a bun with a bit more firmness than a standard bun, but that isn’t critical.

Both Hebrew National and Nathans Kosher dogs have SEVEN (7)to a package/lb. The dog gets the extra bun.

Nathan’s pure beef hot dogs. Slather a potato roll bun with ketchup and Gulden’s spicy brown, and lay the hawt dawg on top.
Relish is the snot of de debbil. Particularly sweet relish.

I’m with Bob- pure beef, bun, brown mustard, sauerkraut. If eating it doesn’t clear your sinuses, it’s not a proper hot dog experience.
In a backyard-grill pinch where there is no sauerkraut- ketchup and mustard.

Beef, kraut, good spicy mustard, no not guldens I mean sinus draining spicy! The kind where they don’t put the acid in right away. English style on steroids. Also good on soft pretzels, Brats and ‘kraut, well okay I go for pretty much any wurst (except liverwurst, and not sure about blutwurst) with ‘kraut and spicy mustard, potatoes optional, though in the absence of potatoes there does need to be bread.
Oh, and chili on the dog is best with Cincinnati style chili, onions and shredded cheddar. The cheese melts nicely just over the chili and you get the nice texture and temperature variety with the unmelted cheese on top.
