Ever notice the amazing variety of factional endorsements for Sheriff Bart in evidence on America’s bumper stickers and yard signs?
Women for Obama. Latinos for Obama. Gays for Obama. Steelworkers for Obama. Republicans for Obama. Cross-dressing Lumberjacks for Obama. (Okay, I didn’t actually see the last one, but the other ones are evident all over the place.)
It’s kind of odd that someone who’s all about “uniting America” and making us “see past our divisions” has a fan base that compartmentalizes itself quite eagerly.

It’s been my observation over the years that the left seems to be good at pigeonholing everyone. It’s like they don’t know how to deal with someone until they can put a bar code on them.

It’s not limited to the left, I’ve seen almost the same groups on the right over the past few years.

Do you really believe it’s his intention to “unite” America?

Hell, no. His whole platform is based on good old-fashioned class warfare.
That said, Dubya’s election mantra of “I’m a uniter, not a divider” takes on a whole new comedic quality eight years later, si it’s not just the left side of the aisle indulging in such platitudes.

“I cut down trees. I skip and jump.
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women’s clothing
And hang around in bars.”
AND, I VOTE!

My favorite one around here (south Texas) is ‘Obamanos’. For those who are not familiar with Spanish, that’s a pun on ‘Vámonos’, which means ‘let’s go’ or ‘onward’.
What can I say? I love puns.

obama, thy name is shill…
wfo, lfo, gfo, sfo, rfo, and cdlfo are voting for their own seperate implied interests…i guess that’s democracy but i don’t think there will be much uniting going on…change, yes…shudder. jtc

After his lovely comments about Pennsylvanians (“And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”), Obama can jam his “hiope” and “change” right up his everloving squeakhole.
“Say NO to drame — screw Obama!’

$100 says you will never see one that says “gun owners for Obama”

Tribalism is the new Civilization, didn’t you hear? They’re doing away with laws, too, and going to the Honor System. Yeah. If you don’t “make trouble” you don’t “get in trouble.” Only “haters” deserve hatin’. There is only one enemy of “us”, and that’s “them”, the people who aren’t “us”, White Male Republicans. Forget about “me”, there is no “me”, it does take a village of “us” to be united. The role of government is evolving; it will take the place of churches and charities, as the Monoinstitution (instead of the Constitution).

you are taking his words way out of context yes he said that but he is putting a point on the bush admin and NAFTA that made them this way..he is telling the truth what no other politician has the guts to say.. for example his speech on race was DEAD on , its what everyone knows but everyone is scared to say.. and about the uniting part ..do you guys truly believe that to unite a country you have to give up this country individualism .. i mean come on they are united for the cause but they still proud of their ethnic , religious etc background… everyone in this country needs to look a little deeper then whats straight put in front of their faces..then some change would actually occur.

Love the way words ignite emotion, string them together one way…pride and rightiousness. Unlink, re-arrange and whoa…stand back, someone is indignant and offended.
So today it’s about small towns, mid Americans with narrow focus….either guns or religion…that’s it. Wait a minute….they need gas to get to gun rallies and church, and once there, food for the meeting costs more than it did at the last get together…so what’s up? Here comes someone, anyone who says they can fix it. Let’s vote….. and by the way, just where is Washington and what do they do there?
