blog roll addition.

Today’s addition to the blogroll: Atomic Nerds.

I have no clue why I haven’t been reading LabRat and Stingray over at Atomic Nerds every day, because that blog has an extremely high beverage>nose>keyboard factor.  The post about boobies was pure genius, and the Remote Control post immediately preceding it had me belly-laughing (to Quinn’s great amusement), which is something not too many blogs manage to do.

Go check out Atomic Nerds, and tell them I sent you.  If I refer enough people, maybe I’ll get a free toaster, or particle accelerator, or something.  They must have a few surplus ones down in the basement at LANL somewhere.

Atomic Nerds is concentrated essence of awesome.

Much obliged for the love. Check behind the copy machine, we’ve usually got something interesting back there. :)

Yeah, good stuff. I link them now, too.

Atomic Nerds is how I get to all of the blogs I read when I’m not at my home computer. They have a fairly handy blogroll that includes the vast majority of blogs I read, including yours. They also have an easy to remember name.

Oh, and their posts are generally either funny as hell or filled with extremely interesting information. :D

Actually, the surplus accelerators are at The Black Hole in the town of Los Alamos. I don’t know if it’s still open, but when I worked there 10 years ago, it was this amazing salvage operation run by a former Lab employee who had renounced weapons (and when they say “weapons” out there, they mean A-bombs). What a cool place. I still have an neat optical sensor do-hickey around here somewhere, and a giant red panic button.

    Other favorite salvage outfits include:
the Boeing Surplus Store (south of Seattle, now closed)
the Pratt & Whitney Surplus Store (in E. Hartford CT, never the same since they discovered eBay)
