I'll be up at my friend's family's old haunts in Fairlee, VT this September for a wedding. I loved going up there as a kid, and there was an old gravel pit nearby where we could haul off with our .22's. We learned that while his 10/22 was faster through a single mag, across an entire box I could keep up single-loading my grandpa's 1950 Savage-4C bolt(magazine lost to the decades).
