Looks like Lego Mindstorms NXT. Pretty awesome, actually.
I ended up taking my cube apart to “solve” it.

As soon as I saw your title, I just knew that you were talking Rubik’s Cube. Heh.
I’ve gotten behind on Lego NXT technology. Cube solvers are generally awesome and having it coupled to a smart phone is even better.
