as long as it doesn’t have jim carrey in it.

I finally had a chance to watch the first of the Batman movies with Christian Bale, “Batman Begins”.  (Yeah, it came out three years ago, but so did Quinn, and the full-time parenting thing sort of put a crimp into my movie-going schedule.)

I was plesantly surprised at the comparative lack of camp.  No “Mistah Freeze”, or Tommy Lee Jones hamming it up as a caricature of a villain.  The new Batman is pretty damn dark, and I like it.  Bale is a lot more scary than Val Kilmer, or (God forbid) Michael Keaton.

Now I have to go and watch “The Dark Knight” which has received stellar reviews from lots of people.  Anybody want to come over and babysit for a few hours?

You’ll like the newest movie. It kicks much ass.

The car chase thing is a little over the top, but The Joker, as played by Heath Leger, was the epitome of chaotic, batshit nuts EVIL. Not even self serving evil, but evil for the sake of evil. It was absolutely scary to think that there MIGHT be human beings like that out there…….

I agree with Tam and Jimbob86. You will really like the newest one. The Joker is something else – an agent of chaos that just wants to break everything (“Its not about the money”). Disturbing and not something I was expecting.

Enjoy the movie and then give us a report.
