barry versus mac.

 ivoted

I voted at 9:30 this morning, at our small town polling place (the public library).  In and out in ten minutes, even with two toddlers in tow.

Now we wait…and obsessively hit the “refresh” button on our web browsers.  If you voted, you have my express permission to sit down with the nerve balm of your choice (nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, sugar, or all of the above), and await the results.  And if you haven’t voted yet…what are you waiting for?

At first I thought that said “I votes” but then I saw the big picture. 🙂

Good for you, Marko, I’m sure you understand the importance of voting more than many natural born citizens. You worked for and applied to get your citizenship and are obviously a better citizen than the majority out there who were born here. Thanks for keeping things in perspective.

  2. This is my first election as a principled non-voter. I’ve argued with you about it http://atwarwithluck.blogspot.com/2008/10/right-to-vote-and-right-to-bitch.html>before, but here’s my election day post on the subject.

    Cheers!

Voted this AM and have the cheesy “I made a difference” sticker to prove it.

Bobby Jindal in 2012! (no matter who wins 08)

I’m waiting until I get home from work, then the wife and I will go to the town hall and vote. Sorry, but I can’t “take a day off” to go support a campaign or to vote.

Hard to justify an 8-hour workday being replaced by 5 minutes at the town hall.

There will be wine and pizza at my house. Bring the kids!

I have been a scrunched up bundle of nerves since I voted this morning at 6 a.m. Oh my God, I have to go shoot something. Bow or gun…? Argh!!!!

I’m waiting for my Social Security Number.

I didn’t need it last time.

All those comments about how not-American I am are slamming into my head like 16-lb Ball-Peens right now, because I find myself disenfranchised and speechless, and frankly I’m finding it pretty fucking hard to deal with.

    I voted.

And now I’ve got six Sam Adam’s Lights under my belt…

    The election has been decided.

Who is going to be John Galt?

  11. MarkHB says:

Actually, Sennin, now that the Big House isn’t run on a blinkered, doctrinaire “God Tole Me To Do It” way, I’m coming back to work hard, play harder and be proud.

All I ever wanted was for being really smart and very hard-working to be pretty cool. The last eight years did not entice me to be publicly smart.
