conversation snippet from a saturday night.

Robin: “I think I need a massage.”

Me:  “And I think I need a Porsche, and a hot Swedish nanny.”

Robin:  “You know there’s no way in hell I’d let you waste your money on a Porsche.  Get a Corvette instead.  Much more bang for the buck.”

dosen’t sound so bad, she didn’t say no to the hot Swedish nanny. . . .

  2. Reese says:

Sounds like a green light on the Swedish nanny🙂

  3. Chang says:

I thought you were the hot GERMAN nanny.

  4. MarkHB says:

Yeah, Robin’s way cool. Looking forward to demolishing more red wine with her!

Unless you wanted to, y’know, turn. 😉

  6. Laughingdog says:

Corvettes turn just fine……when compared to a Mustang.

  7. SgtStu says:

And even Mustangs will allow you to be a bit ham footed as it were, in corners, unlike, say, early 911 Turbos. The ‘Merkin performance iron tends not to exit the corner backwards if you back off the gas abruptly….

JD: Well, of course she didn’t say no. The Swedish nanny is also the one giving the massages.

  10. Sendarius says:

Only, I don’t WANT my cars to go BANG!

Ever notice that, in Hollywood’s opinion, all American cars explode on impact with anything more substantial than a paper shopping bag?

Oh, and SgtStu – no fair complaining about “early 911 Turbos”, Porsche haven’t built them like that for over 30 years. In fact I think it was about the same time that GM was building Corvairs.

  11. Marko says:

If you have to back off the gas in a turn, you’re doing it wrong, anyway.

  12. T.Stahl says:

Porsche or Corvette? Pew, that’s like asking revolver or shotgun – I ain’t got much use for any of those. I prefer front-wheel drive anyway, because thrust-vectoring is better.

Now, regarding that Swedish nanny: You have never been to Norway, have you?😉

That is an interesting angle if you’ll pardon the pun, but torque steer will eat any advantage it might offer. And weight transfer more than balances the advantage of having the weight over the drive wheels might offer from a standing start.

There is a reason that all bespoke performance cars are RWD or AWD.
