obscure special skill #288.

notebook

I have the dubious and almost entirely useless ability to write straight lines and keep neat margins in unlined A4-sized notebooks.

(No, I don’t use guide sheets.  It’s just a natural skill, I suppose.  I’d trade it in a flash for the ability to carry a tune, or dance without looking like Frankenstein’s monster having a seizure while being Tased.)

As another piece of personal skill trivia, I can draw straight lines freehand.

  2. Jay G. says:

Well, I can’t dance *or* write in straight lines.

    Or legibly…

  3. Joat says:

“You can bayonet a Teletubby. That’s good enough for me.” sounds like a verse for a song, one I’d like to hear the rest of. I can free hand sketch in isometric, but that is a reasonably useful skill.

Jesus H. Christ you are so fucking German.

    I have that skill too!!!

  6. ATLien says:

    That’s impressive as hell. You’re a Cylon, aren’t you?

  7. Samsam says:

Oh, the Frankenstein dancing will be in style eventually. Just wait.

  8. Somehow I envision you dancing like Mike Myers in the SNL “Sprockets” skit.

  9. Tennessee Budd says:

That’s pretty much how I looked while dancing before the wreck. Now, with a right leg 2cm shorter than the left, I don’t even want to imagine it.

Well, in another age you could’ve found gainful employment as a scribe….

  11. Did you actually handwrite a hash mark as a section break on the left there? That is *so* ADORABLE! 😉

Well, of course. It’s less ambiguous than an extra line of space, especially in longhand.

Also, Lyra took some colored pencil to the thing when it was open on my desk and unattended for a minute. Now a few pages have adorable violet watermarks.
