zomg tEh 5n0w!

Here are the contractually obligatory pictures I’m required to post as a Northerner whenever we wake up to a white world while Texans still can’t cross their driveways barefooted without contracting second-degree burns.

The scene at Castle Frostbite, five minutes ago:

I guess the bird pool is now officially closed for the winter.  I just took down the little life ring and the sign that says “LIFEGUARD NOT ON DUTY—SWIM AT OWN RISK”.

It’s been raining here in Texas, off an on for 2 weeks. I have a small jungle in the backyard, there may even be tigers there…but it hasn’t dried out enough to mow. Thankfully a friend of mine has an industrial mower that I can use for the front, but it’s too big to make it through the gate to the back…

In other words, we are just getting a bunch of warm snow

What is that white stuff anyway? LOL….

    And so it begins….

  4. And, here is the contractually obligatory comment:

    “I blame global warming.”

  5. Gregg says:

and here in AZ I still have to walk the dog at night so that he doesn’t burn his paws….

    3°C/77°F this morning near Hamburg.
The time for winter tires is coming!

Are those alien crafts in the pictures or just a reflection from the ones you have inside to keep the kiddies busy?

    • Marko Kloos says:

Reflection from the saucer-shaped light on the kitchen ceiling. I’m holding off on the remote-controlled alien craft until they’re in Kindergarten.

“Excuse me Mr. Gore, I would like a refund, my global warming is defective.”

It was 33 degrees this weekend in my part of Texas. With almost-snow-like-thickish-mist falling from the sky off and on. Today it was 80 something.

  10. Most folks (all folks in Texas) have to buy postcards to get that type of scenery. It must be something to get it from your own window.

It was 42 degrees in my part of Texas, yesterday. Today, it was 82 with 100% humidity. It’s a very weird series of weather we are getting. First an incredibly dry, hot, drought ridden, summer. Now, it’s an incredibly wet, cold/hot/cold/hot/cold, fall. Soon, I expect it to be a wet, cold/cold/cold, winter.

I see you are also suffering from the same Global Warming affliction that we, in the frostbitten tundra of MinnesOHtAH have been suffering through…No summer, brief warm spell in September, a day of fall and winter…hmmmm…
    Dammit Gore!! You moron!!

  13. militant_marmot says:

Ahhh, I see you have at least visited us here in Hot-land to be familiar with said affliction. However; lately, you’d be more likely to float away this week. 4 inches of rain since Saturday. And it’s still 90.

  14. Assrot says:

Nice. I’m jealous. I love snow and haven’t seen any in over a decade. If you get tired of it we could trade houses for the winter.

It rarely gets below 65 here and that only lasts a month or so.

    Thanks for the pictures.
